12 May Evolve IT Awarded A Finalist At The NFP Technology Awards
It was a humbling experience for Evolve IT to be awarded their first Connecting Up Not-For-Profit (NFP) Technology Award. Not every day do you get acknowledged for “Using Technology to Connect to the Community | Best Small to Medium Enterprise” especially on Star Wars Day the 4th of May (May the fourth be with you).
Our award transpired around our Give Back campaign, a company-wide initiative established in 2013 where each year we give away over $150,000 worth of services allowing NFP companies to connect to the community.
The Australian NFP Technology Awards were founded by Connecting Up, who are an NFP organisation that works to unleash the power of other NFP organisations through technology. We have partnered with Connecting Up for many years to provide our NFP clients with software and hardware sales at discounted prices. By partnering with companies like Connecting Up it allows our customers to use their money where it is needed most, “The Community”.
We took the opportunity to purchase a table for the night and invited along some of our NFP clients along to say thank you for their continued support with the hope that next year they might be up for an award themselves.
Along with our clients, we were able to share the experience with some amazing individuals and companies. We all had one thing in common, dedication to helping others in the community to create a better environment for everyone to enjoy. There were over 40 nominations across six awards, which is a great effort considering the technology awards are only in their second year. Below is a list of all the finalists and award winners:
Technology Volunteer of the Year
Winner – Damian Marken, The Compassionate Friends Victoria
Josh Passenger, Reef Check Australia
Bryn Roberts, Encounter Youth

Evolve IT was awarded $500 for being a finalist and chose to pass the prize money on to five deserving NFPs and charities. The Connecting Up NFP Technology Awards night was a fantastic event, and I would recommend it to anyone who operates in the NFP space.
